Curriculum
Enkhuizen In the pencak silat Poras Jokotole the following aspects are discerned:
1.Olah Raga (the sports aspect)
2.Bela Diri (the self-defence)
3.Seni (the style)
4.Ilmu/Kebatinan (the training of the mind)

The teachings are set up in a way that brings forward every aspect.
1. Olah Raga
This is understood to mean:
- Fitness training
- Stretching excercises
- Fall-breaking
- Sparring
- Knocking- and kicking-excercises (Dassars)

2. Bela Diri
There are three forms of self-defence:
- The evasions
- The basic excercises
- The self-defence in style (seni)

3. De Seni
The aim of training Seni is to safeguard the traditional character of the pencak silat. The style appears in the other aspects but is also trained separately:
- Lanka form (walking in various fighting postures alternated with techniques)
- Dassars (performing combinations of knocking and kicking in style)
- Bela Diri (performing self-defence techniques in style)


4. Ilmu/ Kebatinan
Right from the beginning the student makes acquaintance with traditional habits en actions that come forth from the different view of the world the Madurese people have. Excercises to train the senses for an emergency are performed on a regular base and there is ample attention to breathing techniques to relax the mind completely and to improve the concentration.

As the Poras Jokotole is a traditional style with a close connection with the main academy in Indonesia, the student is imparted knowledge of the country, the culture and the language.
